Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT IS MILES FOR HOPE?
Miles for Hope is a reimagined version of The Ride for Missing Children. This year, instead of hosting our individual rides, we will host a single event spanning the month of September and participation will be open across the United States.

HOW CAN I PARTICIPATE?
You can ride, walk, run, swim, hike, skateboard - the choice is yours!  Participate in a small group (according to local guidelines) or on your own. Log your miles in one day or spread your miles out over the course of the month – the choice is yours.

DO I NEED TO COMMIT TO A CERTAIN NUMBER OF MILES?
There is no mileage commitment – set a goal and see what you can achieve! Choose a time, location and distance that works for you. Whether you log 1 mile or 100, every mile toward awareness matters!

IS THERE A REGISTRATION FEE?
There is no registration fee for Miles for Hope. We recognize that this is a difficult time for many and we want to provide an opportunity for everyone to participate. If you registered prior to June 1 and paid a registration fee it will be applied to your fundraising goal.

CAN WE REGISTER AS A FAMILY OR TEAM?
Yes, there will still be an option to register and create a team and/or register as part of a team.  For tracking purposes each individual needs to register separately.

Teams do not need to participate “together”!  Each member of a team is encouraged to participate in his or her own way.  If you plan to participate as a group please adhere to local guidelines and practice proper social distancing.

WHERE DO FUNDS GO?
Funds raised support the missing children poster distribution and community prevention education programs. Our education services are provided free of charge to schools, community groups and local businesses. The posters are sent out for targeted distribution of missing children to aid in their search and recovery.

IS THERE A FUNDRAISING MINIMUM FOR MILES FOR HOPE?
While we are not enforcing fundraising minimums for 2020, we appreciate that you are doing your best to reach your personal fundraising goal.  This year more than any, every dollar counts.

WILL THERE BE INCENTIVES THIS YEAR?
Yes!  We appreciate your passion and commitment to keep children safe.  Incentives are cumulative for 2020 so set your fundraising goal high and see what you can achieve!
